“We don’t wear suits.”
Hey, this is WIOH again! We just had our first birthday. There was a party with cake and a small fireworks show afterward.
Well… actually, there wasn’t. But it makes a good story. We really just looked up and remembered that last July we got our legal paperwork to broadcast.
Who are we, if you’re asking? A low-power radio station on 95.9 FM. We cover most of Clinton County, with some overlap “across the borders.”
The corporate stations have short 20-song playlists picked by focus groups, because the suits think that’s what you want. How many times have you heard “Hotel California”?
We have a music library of almost 6,000 songs and play 300–400 of them every day, from the ’60s to 2000 or so. Songs you remember, songs you forgot, and songs you’ve never heard before.
